Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2026

"Where does the forest end, where does the vineyard begin?" asks the Baumann family. At the edge of the Steigerwald, one green blends into the next, and it is in this connection that they see the provenance of their wines. The small vineyards on the steep southern slope have a cool climate, which gives the vines strong, herbal, complex flavours. Manfred and Felix Baumann know how to translate these into fresh, never streamlined wines. The winery only celebrated its debut in this guide in 2023, but last year we sensed its ascent. Now we congratulate them on their second star.
