Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2026

Alexander Loersch is "Mr. Kabinett" - after all, he produces textbook versions of this predicate, minerally polished, juicy and highly elegant. But the other wines are also of a high caliber, so that he should also be shortlisted for the titles of "Mr. Auslese" and "Mr. Trockener Riesling". However, its great core competence has clearly prevailed in our tip, so we warmly recommend the Kabinett from the Trittenheimer Apotheke - and award the winery another half star. Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2022

In spring 2021, Alexander Loersch won the Falstaff Kabinett Trophy with his 2020 Goldtröpfchen Kabinett. And this triumph was no flash in the pan: the other wines from the current range, mostly from Trittenheimer Apotheke and Dhroner Hofberg, also play in the top class of Mosel wine. We found the comparison of the Apotheke Auslese wines from 2019 and 2020 particularly exciting: what the 2019 has more in intensity, the 2020 has more in nuances. In the end, the rating was the same - it's all about the stylistic nuances!

The family's roots in winegrowing can be traced back as far as 1640. Alexander Loersch took over winemaking at the winery in 2002 with firm ideas to highlight terroir and vintage. The wines are selectively hand harvested, and go through spontaneous fermentation. The 2020 Piesporter Goldtröpfchen won the Falstaff Kabinett Trophy award in 2021, with the 2022 Kabinett from the Trittenheimer Apotheke site being by no means inferior. The winery also has a beautiful guest house perched high above the Moselle.
