The red wine Südtirol Lagrein Mirell DOC, vintage 2012 from the winery Ansitz Waldgries has been rated in 2015 by Othmar Kiem with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Lagrein from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Dense, sparkling ruby violet. Very fine and dense nose, dark cherries, some cocoa, then also tobacco, intense. Shows a lot of dense, rich tannin on the palate, builds up in many layers, shows intense berry notes as well as fine earthy tones, the tannin still seems a little rough on the finish, still needs time.
