The red wine Chianti Classico Coltassala, vintage 2012 from the winery Castello di Volpaia has been rated in 2016 by Othmar Kiem with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese from the region Chianti classico in Italy.
Brilliant ruby with a slightly pale rim. Opens on the nose with vivid spicy notes, initially of clove, then rich ripe cherry, crisp and fine. Very polished and fine on the palate, lots of cherry and raspberry, unfolds with finely-meshed tannins, it has a long finish with a sweet fruity texture.
