The red wine Il Puro - Casanova Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, vintage 2021 from the winery Castello di Volpaia has been rated in 2025 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, bright ruby red colour with a fine garnet sheen. Opens with fine savoury notes, some resin and cedar wood, then lots of juicy dark cherry and blood orange. Smooth tannin in many layers characterises the palate, unfolds straightforwardly and very clearly, extremely juicy fruit, flows calmly and for a long time, highly elegant.
