The red wine Faial Merlot Garda DOC, vintage 2021 from the winery Cavalchina has been rated in 2024 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Veneto in Italy.
Deep dark ruby purple. Initially rich wild berry fruit on the nose, delicate fleshy notes, some chalk, ivy and elderberry cordial, fine oak, dried fruit. Very rich on the palate, full-bodied, lots of wood, but also a creamy, oily texture, with a currently strongly perceptible wood overhang in the finish.
