The red wine Côte de Brouilly, vintage 2022 from the winery Domaine Jean-Claude Lapalu has been rated in 2024 by Peter Moser & Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Gamay from the region Beaujolais in France.
Concentrated black cherry and slate-spicy aromas, closer to northern Rhône Syrah than Côte-d'Or Pinot Noir. In the mouth, the wine has great density, is mealy-sandy and immaculately ripe, with artisanal tannins, a pinch of carbonic acid from the (presumably spontaneous) fermentation, mild acidity and lots of mineral extract. It is a compact and has, despite all the concentration, a juicy and easy-drinking structure. A little bold, but with class!
