The red wine 50 & 50 IGT, vintage 1999 from the winery Avignonesi has been rated in 2004 with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Dense and dark ruby; varied nose with aromas of licorice, smoke, blackberry and cassis, lots of vanilla in the background; very rich in the attack, lots of elderberry, unfortunately shows a lot of dry tannin in the further course, still very strongly characterized by wood in the finish, slightly drying out.
