Rich, flinty ruby in colour. Shows lots of dark berry fruit, especially elderberry and blackberry, as well as notes of wet tree bark and earth. Full-bodied and dense on the attack and on the palate, with lots of juicy, vivid fruit leading into dense tannins, with a supple core and fine texture. Clearly persistent, ending on a long finish with notes of cloves.
