The red wine Solaia IGT, vintage 2008 from the winery Marchesi Antinori has been rated in 2013 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Dark ruby-garnet color with violet highlights and a delicate lightening at the rim. On the nose, very intense aromas of raspberry jam, delicate floral notes, a hint of pipe tobacco, a very distinctive bouquet, and subtle hints of bergamot. Juicy, full-bodied, with subtle notes of dried plums, well-integrated, pronounced tannins, and nougat in the finish, yet retaining good freshness; dark berry fruit, chocolate, and a hint of fig in the aftertaste; already appears well-developed. More about the tastingRich, sparkling ruby with violet shimmer. Very concise and dense nose, full of ripe dark currants, some grenadine, plums and tobacco in the background. Full-bodied and rich in the attack and on the palate, initially showing a lot of present cassis fruit, then opens up with dense, fine tannins, unfolds as if in a single strand, full-bodied pressure on the finish.
