The red wine Marqués de Cáceres Gran Reserva Rioja DOCa, vintage 2001 from the winery Marqués de Cáceres has been rated in 2011 by Peter Moser with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Tempranillo, Grenache, Graciano from the region La Rioja in Spain.
Selection of particularly old vineyards, 85% Tempranillo, 15% Graciano and Garnacha. Average age of the vines: 45 years; yield: 15-18 hl/ha. Matured for 26 months in barriques (50% French). Dark ruby color. Deep, silky fruit, red and dark berries, intense and fleshy, slightly smoky. Concentrated and very powerful on the palate, lots of chocolate and coffee, still with a young appearance and firm tannins. International style.
