The red wine Opta Tinto Dâo, vintage 2019 from the winery Quinta da Giesta has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro Preto, Tinta Roriz from the region Dao in Portugal.
A smoky aroma, not only from the wood, but also mineral. A cherry liqueur-like fruit contrasts with the yeasty, stony tones. Soft and plump on the palate, then opening the stage for fresh tannins and a fine, juicy mid-palate. Finishes elegant and almost light-footed. A subtle accompaniment to food.
