The red wine San Lorenzo Etna Rosso DOC, vintage 2016 from the winery Tenuta delle Terre Nere has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio from the region Sicily in Italy.
Brilliant, bright ruby with garnet hues. Opens with pronounced savoury notes, flint and iodine, lots of rhubarb, also thyme, and some strawberry. Powerful and gripping, tightly woven tannins, multi-layered, substantial and long, with a firm drive.
More about the tastingSpicy-fruity bouquet with lots of tobacco, coffee and dried red fruits. Juicy, elegant, balanced, equipped with a fine saltiness, harmonious acidity, fine tannins and nutty as well as mineral on the finish.
