The red wine Poggio ai Grilli Chianti Superiore DOCG, vintage 2021 from the winery Tenuta San Jacopo has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 88 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Clear ruby with a slight purple tinge. Smells of roasted chestnuts on the nose, then mulberry and blackberry. Seems a bit sweet and sour on the palate, lots of sweet fruit at first, then grippy, gripping tannin, but also lots of acidity, seems quite unbalanced.
