The red wine Almaviva, vintage 2019 from the winery Viña Almaviva has been rated in 2023 by Peter Moser with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Merlot from the region Maipo Valley in Chile.
Deep dark garnet, purple reflections, discreet brightening on the rim. Classic Cabernet nuances of blackcurrants, candied purples, some toffee and liquorice, a note of fine oak; a multilayered, inviting bouquet. Substantial yet elegant palate, fine fruit expression of dark fruit, balanced acidity, ripe tannins. Fine minerality on the finish, good ageing potential, already seductive in youth.
