The red wine Weinert Malbec Estrella, vintage 1994 from the winery Weinert has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 97 Falstaff points.
Matured for 19 years in large wooden barrels. Bright ruby, purple reflections, broad ochre rim. Delicately tobacco-like, ripe plums, some undergrowth, a hint of truffle, delicately nutty, the essence of an old-style Malbec. Deep with ripe cherries, fine wood savouriness, tight-knit, fine acid structure, salty minerality, amazing freshness and length, pronounced fruit on the finish, a convincing wine.
