The white wine »Geheimrat J« Rheingau Riesling trocken, vintage 2000 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Light gold with strong golden reflections. Clear notes of honey and botrytis. Silky palate with immediately vivid, fine acidity and tight-knit texture. A hint of bitterness is distinctive, the wine has so much density and length and remains compact for so long that it can easily be expected to mature for another 20 years. Fine mineral extract. Highly astonishing for this difficult year.
