The white wine »Geheimrat J« Rheingau Riesling trocken, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Yeast, caramel and almost red berry fruit aromas, including banana. In the mouth, the wine begins with a slight alcohol brittleness, medium-weight phenolics, then a tart, terpenic extract emerges. A difficult wine to assess, which at the moment seems monolithic and somewhat (too?) hard.
