The red wine Nierstein Hölle Pinot Noir trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Eckehart und Johannes Gröhl has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points.
Buttery, smoky, even slightly truffle-like in aroma. Cocoa bean. In the mouth, the wine shows a sort of disciplined generosity, the silky, fine-grained tannin presses hard and remains homogeneous in its effect for a long time, intense chalky minerality peeks through the tight meshes of the extract, and so does a sweet, berryish fruit. Great length, wine rich in ageing potential.
