The red wine Spätburgunder CCL, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Fritz Waßmer has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Baden in Germany.
Lots of smoke, vanilla and red fruits on the nose as well as some leather and herbal notes. Seems compact and concise on the palate, with fine-grained tannins, vivid but balanced acidity. Finishes with a sweet spiciness (clove and cinnamon), also supported by oak. A very full Spätburgunder, very abundant and vivid, but currently only in its embryonic stage. A lot of structure and good length - perfect for the fans of powerful wines who have patience. .
