The white wine »St. Morand« Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Gebrüder Mathis has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Baden in Germany.
The aroma is richly nuanced and powerful at the same time, showing aromas of meadow herbs, butter and fresh corn leaf alongside the toasty wood. The palate begins juicy and elegant; a layer of suppleness, fresh acidity and rather restrained phenolics create an unobtrusive but certainly rich structure. Lime and mineral notes emerge on the finish.
