The red wine Mittelburgenland DAC, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Josef Tesch has been rated in 2017 by Peter Moser with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Blaufränkisch from the region Central Burgenland in Austria.
Tasting Notes
It has a dark ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. There is a fresh blackberry fruit aroma underlaid with a discreet herbal savouriness, hints of cassis, and some tobacco. On the palate it has a medium complexity, with dark wild berry fruit, fine tannins, and some subtle caramel on the finish, and it is already accessible.
