The white wine NV »Hades Oxygène 2« from the winery Weingut Jürgen Ellwanger has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Johanniter from the region Württemberg in Germany.
The wine name "Oxygène 2" refers to an oxidative style of ageing, but perhaps also to the record by Jean-Michel Jarre that has not been heard for ages. In any case, there is an enormous amount of woody complexity on the nose. Cedar, sage, dried porcini mushroom, very exciting. On the palate, the "Oxygène 2" has noticeable tannins, notes of orange peel, wood and is light in alcohol. Very good - especially if you see it as a red wine.
