The white wine Würzburg Stein-Berg Silvaner VDP.Großes Gewächs, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Juliusspital has been rated in 2026 by Ulrich Sautter with 94+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Silvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
On the nose, the wine captivates with notes of saffron, yellow curry, sea buckthorn and boiled quince. This is joined by an herbal bouquet of thyme and rosemary with a hint of fresh porcini mushroom. A striking iodine note shows a shell limestone character. Very full-bodied, full-bodied and powerful on the palate. Firm acidity brings tension and pressure. Tactile minerality brings complexity and a spicy finish with plenty of traction.
