Tasting Notes
This has a lush nose, with aromas of elderberry, lilac, clove, and amarena cherry, as well as some smoke and savouriness. It is expansive on the palate, with soft flowing tannins, a good structure, plenty of red fruit, some pepper, chocolate, and tobacco. It is a perfect match with saddle of venison.
More about the tastingMixing lilac berries with cherry juice in equal parts and generously adding toast spice to both the smell and the taste adds up to a creamy, baroque fullness on the palate that would have been just as good with fewer ornaments.
