It has a deep ruby colour, with purple reflections, and a subtle ochre rim. There is an aroma hint of liquorice, as well as cassis, black cherry, discreet nougat caramel, and orange zest in the background. On the palate it has lovely fruit, with a ripe plum flavour, a fresh structure, elegance, ripe rounded tannins, and nuances of minerality on the finish. It has matured beautifully.
