The white wine »Edition« Chardonnay im Eichenfass gereift trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Winzerverein Deidesheim has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
As with almost all wines of the Deidesheim winemakers, there is nothing brutal on the nose, but only a comparatively discreet touch of wood, along with linden blossom and an earthy component. On the palate, there is a certain viscosity, kept calm. A good table wine.
More about the tastingToasty new oak and buttery tones as well as floral aromas and a hint of popcorn. On the palate, the wine has volume, suppleness and a ripe, mild acidity. A delightful food wine.
