The Biancame is mainly native to eastern, central Italy, mainly in the Marche, in the vineyards near Ascona and Ascoli Piceno. It is also planted in the provinces of Forlì and Pesaro e Urbino. The medium to late ripening grape variety is often confused with Trebbiano di Toscana and Passerina. A little over 2,000 hectares are produced in Italy; there are smaller deposits beyond the Marche in Emiglia-Romagna, where the Biancame produces the wine for the Colli di Rimini DOC either as a single variety or in a cuvée. The origins and origins of Biancame/Bianchello are still unclear today.
This grape variety is also known by the name of:
Bianchello
