The white wine variety Lafnetscha is a cross between Completer and Humagne Blanc. The name is derived from Laff-nit-scho, which means don't drink yet or don't drink too young! This is because the grapes are harvested when they are unripe and the aging of the wine takes longer due to its tartness.
This grape variety is also known by the name of:
Blanchier, Blantiere, Laffnetscha, Lafnätscha, Gros Gouais, Gros Gouet, Lavenetsch
