Pelaverga piccolo is grown in Verduno, a town in the Langhe that is part of the Barolo growing area. The red wine made from these grapes is called Verduno Pelaverga or simply Verduno. Vines for this wine can also be found in designated areas in the municipalities of La Morra and Roddi d'Alba. According to tradition, the Pelaverga grown here was imported from the Saluzzo area, but is now considered an independent variety.
