The Siegerrebe is also a new variety from the 20th century that goes back to Georg Scheu, who was responsible for some of these varieties. As with others, it was done with the aim of creating grape varieties for cool regions that sprout as late as possible and ripen early, and that with a correspondingly high must weight, which is also sufficient for sweet and sweet wines. The winner vine is a cross between Madeleine Angevine and Savagnin Rose and, after a very strong decline, can still be found on a good 100 hectares in Germany. Outside Germany, they can still be found on a few hectares in southern England, Switzerland and Washington State. It is rather reservedly fruity, sometimes has a light nutmeg aroma and noticeably low acidity, so the time of harvest can be very crucial.
