"Barrier-free" Street Food Restaurants in Hanover
At vorveg, the food is not only plant-based, the operators have also rejected overseas products such as avocado and mango. This is not a shortcoming. Sandwiches, pancakes, bagels: trained chef Florian Skupski brings vegan and sustainable street food to the table.
When it comes to Neapolitan pizza, there is no alternative to the Bestia. The dough - baked at 480 degrees for a maximum of 90 seconds - is tender and fluffy. The topping ingredients from Italy are of good quality. Particularly delicious: the white pizza with fior di latte, mortadella and pistachio pesto.
The market hall in Hanover is not necessarily synonymous with high quality, but DOLI offers hope; the Georgian artisan cuisine is stunning. Kubdari and borscht are freshly prepared and flavoured with great flair. Be sure to try the khinkali pastry bags!
Chopping and chopping to the beat. One of the aspects that elevates the Thai food at Mimi's Thai Kitchen above the average is the freshness of the ingredients. There is lukewarm laab, Thai omelette, and when the whole fish "Pla Rad Prik" is available, it's time to dig in!
The place is usually lively. Especially in the warmer months, the restaurant is equally busy inside and on the terrace in the inner courtyard. The standard menu with Spanish tapas, meat and fish dishes is supplemented by changing daily specials.
Fine ingredients such as lobster, truffles or caviar are used in the "New Style Sushi" at TresOr. Or would you prefer a Wagyu tramezzini or a Fassona beef burger? Perhaps accompanied by a sake, whisk(e)y or gin from the high-profile drinks menu? It's fun.
It's hard to imagine Misburg without the Majmunovics and their Ranko. The restaurant is always busy. The Balkan specialities are fresh and good, and the salad buffet is particularly enjoyable - be sure to try a wine or brandy from Croatia, Serbia or Bosnia!
The lack of staff is making itself felt at Hanover's pizza institution, Francesca & Fratelli, which has recently closed branches. The location in Seilwinderstraße and the fantastic quality of the pizzas remain unaffected - you can't go wrong!
When it comes to burgers, KUHnstWERK is a firm favourite in the city. Creations such as "Knobi Wan Kenobi", "Feuerschlucker" and "3 Käsehoch" point the way. But if you want a classic burger, you won't be disappointed either. The calorie-rich bliss is rounded off with a milkshake.
It's not just the young crowd that BoBo attracts. Toasted bread is topped with a truffle and walnut or avocado and feta omelette. There are also smart bowls such as "Surf & Turf" with beef fillet and prawns or "Oh my Goat" with goat's cheese, rosemary potatoes and pumpkin.
At Chai'n more, Indian dishes such as "Butter Chicken" or "Scampi Goan Style" do not come with rice, but with a large slice of sourdough bread underneath - and it's served as breakfast. A simple idea that works. Or would you prefer a mango, Nutella, chilli and peanut sandwich?
An institution on Weißekreuzplatz. Students sit here in the mornings for breakfast and lattes, and at lunchtime for stews and toasted sandwiches. In the evening, tarte flambée leaves the kitchen while the beer flows steadily from the tap. Another favourite: Tannenzäpfle from Baden.
Spicy Korean fried chicken or vegan and, incidentally, excellent Tantanmen ramen are part of the menu at this restaurant in Linden. The dishes are skilfully prepared. A thirst-quenching speciality: there is gin in abundance, including Asian varieties.
