"Delivery Service" Street Food Restaurants in Hanover
At vorveg, the food is not only plant-based, the operators have also rejected overseas products such as avocado and mango. This is not a shortcoming. Sandwiches, pancakes, bagels: trained chef Florian Skupski brings vegan and sustainable street food to the table.
A candidate for a favourite restaurant, because the massive stone oven transforms the homemade sourdough into tender pizza, panini or bread with tinned sardines and fresh lemon juice. Served with home-made sour vegetables and a Cynar tonic? A strong performance!
The market hall in Hanover is not necessarily synonymous with high quality, but DOLI offers hope; the Georgian artisan cuisine is stunning. Kubdari and borscht are freshly prepared and flavoured with great flair. Be sure to try the khinkali pastry bags!
Fans of smashed burgers with crispy buns, crispy, juicy patties, melted onions and pickled gherkins also sink the high-calorie hand grenades into bowls of cheese sauce. If you want to take it to the extreme, order fries and deep-fried chicken pieces.
The shop now prints its own T-shirts. Is the merchandise doing well? One thing is certain: the well-made smashed burgers, often offered in creative variations, are so popular that the pub quickly runs out of space. "Loaded Fries" make the calorie happiness perfect.
At Curry Culum, we find a great combination of liquid and solid: not only do they serve excellent burgers with good fries, but also an abundance of different types of gin, which are classically married with tonic water.
Fine ingredients such as lobster, truffles or caviar are used in the "New Style Sushi" at TresOr. Or would you prefer a Wagyu tramezzini or a Fassona beef burger? Perhaps accompanied by a sake, whisk(e)y or gin from the high-profile drinks menu? It's fun.
The organic restaurant procures produce with dedication and conviction and uses it to prepare soups, bowls and burgers. A weekly menu rounds off the offerings, including "meatballs with fried egg and greens" or "new potatoes, North Sea crabs and dill sour cream".
A dozen bowls and salad plates are prepared in the small restaurant - with beef or tuna, chicken or sheep's cheese. Of course, there are also vegetarian or vegan options, and the "Crazy Guy" salad with red cabbage, beetroot, avocado and roast potatoes tastes great.
This is where the Lister crowd meets after work for a plate of pasta and a glass of wine. This is certainly also due to the friendly hosts, who may not offer countless dishes, but cook everything fresh - the antipasti platter beforehand is worth it!
The restaurant is centrally located in a ravine. But this is quickly forgotten when the table is filled with high-quality Turkish cuisine in a cosy atmosphere. It's best to order the mezze platter with its many delicacies and simply enjoy.
It's not just the young crowd that BoBo attracts. Toasted bread is topped with a truffle and walnut or avocado and feta omelette. There are also smart bowls such as "Surf & Turf" with beef fillet and prawns or "Oh my Goat" with goat's cheese, rosemary potatoes and pumpkin.
The place is regularly a hive of activity with queues sometimes forming even before opening time. The kebab pocket with antipasti-style vegetables and mellow cheese is a particular favourite. Gratinated cheese is also a favourite, in line with the gastronomic adage "There's no such thing as too much cheese".
Sometimes guests can hear the monkeys screaming in the neighbouring zoo. The restaurant, which is connected to the tennis club, is in a very idyllic location with a large garden and small playground. The pasta dishes (such as aglio e olio) and pizzas (such as frutti di mare) are great.
Although there are also a handful of soups and donburi here, the main focus of this small restaurant on Thielenplatz has been on sushi for 20 years, which is often ordered to take away. The slightly higher prices are due to the high quality of the fish.
There are three branches in Hanover. The one in Osterstraße is centrally located, but not as crowded as the one in the main railway station. The food concept is of course similar everywhere: there are wraps, sandwiches, curries and bowls, which you can also put together yourself.
There are bagels, sandwiches and smørrebrød, for example with matjes, curried egg salad, leek and gherkin or with avocado, kimchi, tomato, pesto rosso and cress. You should leave room for homemade cakes and tartlets. Also very popular: the colourful breakfast boxes to go.
Multiple choice at the healthy food counter: You choose a base, such as rice or zoodles, then a protein, such as salmon or tofu, and finally all kinds of herbs and vegetables, all topped with a sauce such as peanut, soya lime or mayo wasabi - and your personalised bowl is ready. And it's good anyway.
Spicy Korean fried chicken or vegan and, incidentally, excellent Tantanmen ramen are part of the menu at this restaurant in Linden. The dishes are skilfully prepared. A thirst-quenching speciality: there is gin in abundance, including Asian varieties.
A bowl with beef tips, onions, asparagus, strawberries, peanuts, and chilli-soy dressing is as rare as chicken skewers with tamarind-fish sauce. At Vietal-Kitchen, these are daily specials. A strong Vietnamese coffee with salt foam is a tempting way to finish.
