The vinotheque with its pub and beautiful garden is firmly anchored in southern Styria. The cuisine focuses on the flavours of the past. The wine list, which lists around 4500 items, promises wine heaven, expertly explained by Christian Zach.
In the beautiful Renaissance arcade courtyard, the range extends from classic Welschriesling to single-vineyard Sauvignon Blanc. Wine lovers can savour over 130 labels from Styria and Burgenland. There are also "treasures" from the winegrowers' private cellars.
In the centre of the Styrian volcanic region, the Trummer family's large, modern regional market is a popular place to go. Spreads, pâtés, seed oil, bread and pastries are sourced from over 200 suppliers. You will also find a wide range of regional wines.
You can fall in love with the view from the terrace: steep vineyards and hilly countryside as far as the eye can see. Schilcher, Welschriesling and Sauvignon, the main representatives of the region, have character and freshness, with around 130 winegrowers listed.
The cheese specialist has a very good selection of wines from Austria, Italy, Spain, France (champagne, Crémant de Loire) and Germany through to "New World" wines. There are also gins, cognacs, fine old rums, whisk(e)ys and 20-year-old Calvados.
On cooler days, the paradisiacal Mediterranean garden beckons. You will be spoilt with an incredible variety of Styrian wines, served with ham and melon, spreads, cheese and, as a highlight, crispy tarte flambée. There is also live music from time to time.
The delicatessen will amaze you - a large selection of Italian specialities such as salami, ham and cheese. Owner Maurizio knows exactly where the products come from. Pasta and pizza are served. Prosecco, wine and grappa are also well stocked.
The meeting place is popular with connoisseurs, who appreciate traditional values and modern enjoyment from the region. Homemade pastries, small dishes, the monthly gourmet breakfast and an extensive selection of wines - inclination group: Vulkanland - round off the offer.
The Meister family produces Vulkanland flint wine using the Champagne method and you can enjoy it with an unrivalled view from the panoramic terrace together with around 300 of the finest products from the region. The 350-year-old ambience of the vaulted cellar also has something special.
