"One of everything, please", you would like to shout to the service staff at Fritz & Felix when ordering. There are great steaks and fish, but also refined vegetable dishes - served in a sophisticated flair.
Baden hospitality is the trump card here. The cuisine, which offers hearty dishes such as lukewarm veal tongues, homemade mushroom dumplings and duet of venison from the hotel's own hunting grounds, is a perfect match.
Head chef Joachim Peter deliberately opts for a straightforward menu and shines with dishes such as chanterelle tart or rack of lamb with a rosemary crust. Accompanied by a wine from the 400-plus wine list.
The wine bar doesn't try to be pretentious when it comes to food; the cooking is home-style and of a good standard. This is probably why the vaulted cellar is often fully booked. The terrace in the inner courtyard is lovely in summer.
The menu is clear, but dishes such as potato pancakes with chanterelles or scaloppine al limone are prepared "in the style of the chef" Dagmar Mattes-Racciatti, which means nothing other than: good.
Good regional cuisine at all times of the day, which attracts many families, especially in the summer months, because of the moderate prices and the playground attached to the beer garden.
