Tasteful period furniture and cosy elegance characterise the interior. Pastry chef Dieter Craigher himself is at the oven preparing cakes and tarts according to traditional recipes. Specialities include French tartlets and chocolate creations.
The traditional company's range includes the finest chocolates, gingerbread and biscuits, pastries and delicious cakes and pastries to accompany good coffee. All ingredients come from the region. Sunday is cake day, breakfast is fun too.
Only natural ingredients are used in the baked goods, and the majority of the breads are made from flour, salt, water and sourdough. 20 types of rolls and almost as many types of bread are baked. The sweet favourites are Sachertorte, Cremeschnitte and apple strudel.
A wonderfully classic business, the old craft of confectionery is still practised here. Exquisite truffle confectionery, the finest cakes and ice cream variations are part of the programme. But savoury treats such as bacon and lard sandwiches or pizza also come out of the kitchen.
This small, fine coffee house has been family-owned since the 16th century. The selection of cakes and tarts is a delight, and the real highlights are the small foam rolls and the homemade ice cream. At Easter, the cakes sell like hot cakes.
Very good coffee brightens up the day, along with homemade pastries and a wide range of breakfasts with some egg dishes. Italian delicacies include prosciutto, parmesan and salami, accompanied by a glass of Prosecco or fruity cocktails.
Claudia Röck knows her trade. Her chocolates are made with the finest Belgian chocolate, and fillings such as raspberry, cherry, vanilla-currant, or hazelnut brittle give them that extra kick. The cakes and delicious coffee are also highlights.
Located directly on the Drau bridge, the marvellous view of the river is enchanting. The ice cream and pastry specialities are made fresh daily according to in-house recipes using regional ingredients wherever possible. The imaginative cakes are real eye-catchers.
