Homemade Ice Cafés in Tyrol
The historic walls of the Katzunghaus are filled with the aroma of freshly baked cakes, tarts and strudels from our own bakery, which vary depending on the season. The popular breakfast is served all day, accompanied by coffee, exotic teas or hot chocolate.
In the heart of the old town, a coffee house that has been in operation since 1803 preserves traditional craftsmanship: cakes and pastries are made daily in the in-house patisserie, while pralines and drinking chocolate made from Valrhona chocolate set fine accents. In season, creamy ice cream is a tempting treat.
Viktor serves its own coffee blend: three Arabicas from Guatemala, Brazil and El Salvador. This is accompanied daily by sweet temptations in the form of cakes, pastries and chocolates - supplied by the traditional Peintner confectionery. And their own ice cream in summer.
On the main square, the classically furnished café invites you to take a sweet break: the cake counter offers traditional cakes, imaginative home-made creations, chocolate and pralines - all homemade. Creamy ice-cream and Lienz Lebzelt complete the offer.
Daniel Ibounig and Nora Dariz have dedicated themselves to the sweet craft and also serve top-quality (spanking) cakes, desserts and chocolates at the new location - as well as customised wedding cakes. Hausbrandt coffee and organic tea are served for breakfast.
For over 60 years, the family-run establishment has been serving homemade cakes, tarts, cupcakes and chocolates of confectioner's quality - complemented by homemade ice cream. For breakfast, there are classic specialities, but also something new like avocado on sourdough toast.
Cakes with character are created at Bergisel - hand-modelled, decorated with an airbrush or made to order. Organic ingredients, regional provenance and an in-house patisserie under the direction of Samantha Di Spalatro characterise the sweet profile of the establishment.
Exquisite delicacies for connoisseurs: from delicately shaped petits fours to fruity macarons and creamy ice cream, sweet seduction unfolds here. Accompanied by exquisite coffees - from espresso to latte macchiato - every bite is a delight.
The name Peintner has stood for artisan confectionery since 1958. In the display case: artistic cakes, fine chocolates and succulent gingerbread from their own production. In summer, the coffee house programme is complemented by a range of ice creams with homemade frozen yoghurt.
In Matrei, the down-to-earth coffee house combines creamy cappuccino with homemade cakes, meringues and seasonal tarts. If you stay longer, you can order freshly baked pizza or use the free Wi-Fi - all with a view of the mountains.
Single-origin beans or blends, extra strong or decaffeinated: the quality of the coffee is impressive. There are also brioches and croissants, cakes and homemade jams. The bread comes from the wood-fired oven - with natural sourdough and baked according to their own recipes.
