In the summer, guests can take a seat in the shade of the apple trees in the beautiful garden; in the winter, the wood-burning stove beckons in the rustic dining room. The menu features hearty, meaty dishes from the neighborhood and homemade spreads, as well as Veltliner, Riesling, and other classic Wachau wines.

An idyllic garden awaits on the banks of the Danube, yet you almost find yourself wishing for bad weather—because then the atmosphere by the fireplace inside becomes even cozier. In addition to classic tavern dishes like Blunzenlaibchen and Backhendl, they also serve risotto and homemade gnocchi.
You can really feel the breath of fresh air at the spot across from the riding arena (as the older folks recall). “Elektro Rosé,” for example, brings a new twist, but during regular hours, Lukas Döller revives the traditional charm of a Buschenschank. It’s not just the “locals” who appreciate it.
A charming Heurigen in the heart of the Wachau. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling come from the premier vineyards of Achleiten and Klaus—and the ingredients for the down-to-earth Heurigen snacks are also sourced from the region. A beautiful vaulted cellar and a cozy garden!
