The Falstaff wine advent calendar: Day 3

Can you guess where to find the world’s highest commercial vineyard?

Until a few years ago, the answer to this question was Bodegas Colomé in Salta, Argentina, which boasts vineyards at a heart pounding 3,111 metres above sea level. However, as of 2018, the official holder of this record has been the Pure Land & Super-High Altitude Vineyard, which was recently planted in Tibet at a mighty – and very precise – 3,563.31m above sea level. However, if you’re curious to taste the results of such lofty viticulture, then it’s almost certainly easier to get your hands on a bottle of the Colomé.
