A few months after the new Michelin Guide 2024 for Asia was published, another award ceremony has taken place: Asia's 50 Best Restaurants. In 1st place: The Sézanne in Tokyo.
The selection of the best restaurants in Asia was made by the renowned Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Academy. A group of 318 experts consisting of food critics, chefs, restaurateurs and regional culinary leaders. This year's list, which includes restaurants from 19 Asian cities - including eight up-and-coming newcomers - reflects the diversity and innovation of Asian gastronomy.
Sézanne, a renowned French restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, has taken first place in Asia's 50 Best Restaurants, securing the prestigious title of best restaurant in Asia for 2024. At this year's ceremony in Seoul, the Sézanne was celebrated as a culinary luminary.
The Sézanne, under the direction of chef Daniel Calvert, offers refined neo-French cuisine with a unique fusion of Japanese ingredients. The restaurant, located on the seventh floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi, is inspired by the city of the same name in the Champagne region France and offers not only excellent food, but also an impressive selection of rare Champagnes, sparkling wines and vintage cuvées.
Sézanne's rise began in 2022 when it debuted at number 17 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list, followed by a jump to number 2 in 2023. It has now reached the summit and earned the title of Best Restaurant in Asia for 2024.
