Champagne G.H. Mumm Launches Mumm Millésimé 2015

The Champagne house, founded in 1827, has debuted its latest vintage cuvée. The wine spent five years on lees before being disgorged in 2021.

Champagne G.H. Mumm has released its latest vintage, Millésimé 2015. The grapes for the wine were sourced in grand cru vineyards only and is a blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay.

Cellar master Laurent Fresnet emphasises that the Champagne champions the expression of Pinot Noir: "Since 1840, the relationship between Mumm and Pinot Noir has been rooted in the Montagne de Reims. The blend of Mumm Millésimé 2015 is made from Pinot Noir from the house's historic terroirs in the Montagne de Reims – Verzenay, of course, Verzy, Ambonnay - plus Chardonnay from the prestigious Avize and Cramant crus in the Côte des Blancs. The Chardonnay brings fresh, elegant, floral notes, balancing and enriching the aromatic intensity of the Pinot Noir."

The blend and the provenance of the grapes harks back to the first vintage Champagne ever made by Mumm, back in 1842 which was also made "from the best crus from the Montagne de Reims: Aÿ, Verzenay and Bouzy."
