Four Seasons expands its collection in Egypt

The hospitality company adds three hotel and residential projects to its Egyptian collection.

The hospitality company, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, has announced plans for a portfolio expansion in Egypt, with the addition of new hotels, residential offerings and property enhancements. This will ensue in partnership with the real estate development corporation Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG).

These are the three projects:

  • A new Four Seasons Hotel with private residences, the New Cairo Capital at Madinaty
  • A new Four Seasons Hotel at Luxor
  • Property enhancements at the Four Seasons Resort with private residences at Sharm El Sheikh

Egypt marked the brand’s entry into the Middle East 22 years ago. The continued expansion illustrates the “ongoing commitment to the region”, said Bart Carnahan, President, Global Business Development and Portfolio Management at Four Seasons.

Details about the new projects

New Cairo Capital at Madinaty: Expected to open in 2025, and set within the Madinaty development on 185 hectares of parkland, Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, New Cairo Capital at Madinaty, will be a destination for those who want to visit the ancient metropolis of Cairo and explore the extension of the capital city. The hotel will have 346 rooms and suites, while the private residences will comprise 107 villas and 80 luxury residences. Gourmet restaurant and bar options will include a waterfront restaurant at the centre of the property, with several private dining, al fresco, and international and Egyptian-inspired outlets throughout this expansive property. The property is being designed by Pierre Yves-Rochon, who has also worked on Four Seasons properties in Paris, Megève, Bahrain Bay, Doha, Florence, and more.

Luxor: Located on the River Nile in southern Egypt, Luxor is one of the country’s most visited destinations, considered one of the world’s greatest ancient sites. Best known for its history as the ancient city of Thebes and its Karnak and Luxor temple complexes, this historic city acts as an open-air museum with some of Egypt’s most delicate artefacts on grand display throughout. Set to open in 2025, Four Seasons Hotel Luxor will include 200 guest rooms and suites, each with views of the River Nile, the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens.

The Hotel will be located just south of the Luxor Temple, which dates back to 1400 BC. Guests will be able to enjoy several restaurant and bar outlets, a spa, a fitness facility and pools. The property will also feature meeting and event facilities. WATG Architects, who have helped create Four Seasons experiences in Maui, Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, Tianjin and an up-and-coming project in Hanoi, will lead the design of the building. Wimberly Interiors, overseeing the interiors, have worked on Four Seasons projects in Los Angeles and Maui.

Sharm El Sheikh: The Four Seasons Resort and private residences at this location initially opened 20 years ago. Following an enhancement, the property has now doubled in size, with new accommodation, restaurants, recreational facilities and meeting facilities for travellers. This expansion includes the addition of 69 private residences to the existing collection of 77. This allows homeowners access to the newly expanded resort's amenities, including twelve culinary concepts, tennis courts, a golf course, fitness facilities, and entry to dive sites. The new residential offerings will comprise 25 villas and 44 chalets, ranging from 195 to 240 square metres (2,100 to 2,600 square feet). With these latest residential additions, Four Seasons will now manage more than 300 private residences across multiple markets in Egypt.
