InterContinental Hotels Reveals New Luxury 'Vignette Collection' Brand

IHG Hotels & Resorts has unveiled a new luxury brand, Vignette Collection. Two hotels in Australia and Thailand are the first to join the collection.

New luxury hotel brand

InterContinental Hotel Group has announced a new luxury brand called Vignette Collection, the 17th brand in its global hotel portfolio. The owner of the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn brands has nearly 6,000 hotels in more than 100 countries. Hotels in the Australian city of Brisbane and Pattaya in Thailand would be the first to join the new brand, InterContinental said. “Our new Vignette Collection gives IHG a compelling way to welcome world-class independent hotels into our brand family, combining each property’s distinctive identity with the power of our global scale," it said in a statement.

Appetite for one-of-a-kind stays

InterContinental said said its luxury and lifestyle range of hotels is now the second largest in the industry with more than 400 properties and 100,000 rooms. It expects to attract more than 100 Vignette Collection hotels over the next 10 years. "These exclusive properties in sought-after urban and resort locations will accelerate IHG’s growth and meet an increasing appetite from travellers for one-of-a-kind stays," it said. The first hotels to join the brand are the Hotel X in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley and the Pattaya Aquatique hotel.
