From the charm of bygone eras to stylish boutique addresses: New hotels are opening this winter in Vienna and Salzburg, elegantly combining history, culture and modern comfort.
After being lovingly renovated, the historic building reopened as a lifestyle boutique hotel in September 2025. Centrally located, with personal hospitality and authentic Salzburg character, it offers travelers a stylish place to arrive and relax. The proximity to Salzburg's cultural and music scene as well as the combination of urban elegance and alpine surroundings make the "Vier Jahreszeiten" the ideal companion for stays in the city of Mozart.
The heart of the new concept is the elegant entrance, designed in the style of Salzburg's famous Loden fabric. Right next to it, the "Taste & Green" breakfast room invites guests to enjoy quiet mornings and relaxed afternoons. Small crystal chandeliers provide lighting accents, while the interior is deliberately kept local and is intended to be a cozy living room for guests.
The color scheme of the rooms is either blue or a warm green-gold palette. They run like a fine red thread through every detail, from the pillows to the guest amenities.
In addition to spacious boutique oases and cozy double room gems, there are five "city nests" for solo travelers. One highlight is the Signature Suite. Equally charming: the "Sound of Music Style Suite", which is reminiscent of the world-famous musical with a wink.
On November 17, 2025, Vienna will get a new boutique hotel: the "Miiro Palais Rudolf" will be a stylish retreat in the heart of the 1st district. 64 rooms, two suites, an unmistakable design concept and a clear vision of hospitality: the past and present come together here in a harmonious dialog.
The Palais sees itself as a modern homage to the culturally rich city. Inspired by the spirit of classic Viennese townhouses, architect Gabriel Kacerovsky from "Archisphere" preserves the clear proportions and fine details of the 19th century, but lends them lightness and intimacy. James Thurstan Waterworth, founder of the London studio "Thurstan" and former European Design Director of "Soho House", is responsible for the interior design. His vision combines international style with local sensitivity - and gives Palais Rudolf a subtle elegance that is cosmopolitan, yet unmistakably Viennese.
The 64 rooms - including two suites with optional private balconies - capture the aesthetics of classic Viennese apartments: parquet floors in a herringbone pattern, soft natural tones, vintage-inspired furniture, artfully set lighting moods. The views extend over Rudolfspark or the leafy inner courtyard and create a peaceful connection to the city. The public areas evoke the world of Viennese coffee houses and brasseries. During the day they look like elegant reading and meeting rooms, in the evening they are transformed into intimate, warmly lit settings with a touch of stylish theatricality.
Palais Rudolf also sees itself as a gallery. Works by important Austrian artists such as Maria Lassnig, Peter Sengl, Jürgen Messensee, Max Weiler, Rudolf Hradil and Christian Ludwig Attersee hang in the public areas.
