You’ve bought the ring, you’re planning to pop the question, and all you need now is the perfect spot to propose. That official declaration of love is something that many couples dream of, with certain romantic locations still chosen as the best place to make than unforgettable gesture.
A survey of the most popular European Wedding Proposal Destinations on social media has revealed that it’s still the old favourites that couples head for when one of them wants to get down on bended knee – Paris once again proving to be the most popular spot for proposals.
The ultimate symbol of the French capital, the Eiffel Tower, remains the most popular spot in the city of romance; proposals made either at the top, or at a restaurant with the monument in the background. London comes in at No. 2 with, perhaps surprisingly, the Greek island of Santorini coming third, ahead of Venice and Rome.
Santorini apart, the top five scream weekend break, with holiday rental booking portal Holidu carrying out the work to count the TikTok and Instagram hashtags to determine the locations most shared on social media by romantics.
