Vienna is ringing in the pre-Christmas season with street lighting and Advent markets. Away from the classic Christmas markets, elegant hotels offer a very special Advent season - high above the rooftops of Vienna, the "quiet time" is celebrated elegantly and festively.
These hotels offer mulled wine, punch and winter moments - on their rooftop bars and with a view of the glittering city.
Aurora Rooftop Bar on the roof of the "Hotel Andaz Vienna"
Inspired by the northern lights of Scandinavia, the bar exudes a warm, inviting ambience even in cold temperatures, and not just thanks to the fireplace. On the 16th floor, guests not only enjoy a unique view over the city, but also exceptional cocktail creations. Warming drinks have been served from this winter punch hut since mid-November. On the four Sundays in Advent, the bar is transformed into a place for the finest brunch: with a live cooking station and winter specialties.
Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays 3 p.m. to midnight, on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays/Sundays from 4 p.m. to midnight

The Ritz-Carlton Vienna
Christmas will soon be upon us when the rooftop gondolas in the "Atmosphere Rooftop Bar" at The Ritz-Carlton Vienna once again exude their alpine magic. Five original Salzburg ski gondolas, heated and lovingly decorated, are in use on the roof terrace on the 8th floor of the hotel. They offer space for four to six people and can be booked exclusively. Starting at 60 euros per person, hot raclette cheese is served with bread, truffle honey, vegetables, salami, asparagus and potatoes.
Guests toast with mulled wine, mulled cider, passion fruit punch or hot chocolate. Seasonal highballs and a selection of Perrier-Jouët Champagnes add the finishing touches to the evening.
The winter rooftop bar is open daily from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. until January 4, 2026.
