Italian Pasta Casserole

This pasta classic is prepared in no time at all.

Ingredients (4 servings)
450 g pasta of your choice (e.g. penne or fusilli)
3 handful garlic, finely diced
500 g tomato passata
75 g parmesan cheese, grated
400 g cherry tomatoes, halved
some olive oil
1 1/2 medium onions, finely diced
1 chilli pepper, seeded, diced (alternatively: 1/2 tsp chilli powder)
1 cups single cream
200 g mozzarella, grated
handful fresh basil
pinch(es) salt
some freshly ground black pepper
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Bring enough water to the boil in a saucepan, add salt and cook the pasta al dente according to the instructions on the packet.
  • In the meantime, heat the olive oil in a pan and sauté the garlic, onions and cherry tomatoes. Then stir in the tomato passata and the cream. Add chilli (diced or powder) and season with salt and pepper. Then let the sauce simmer for 3 minutes.
  • Combine the pasta and sauce in a saucepan and sprinkle with mozzarella. Then bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and - for a special taste - sprinkle with grated parmesan.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and enjoy!
