The best restaurants in Schaffhausen
Villa Sommerlust is worth a visit not only in summer, even if the garden is particularly beautiful. Here there is a balanced seasonal cuisine, whose combinations are sometimes classic, sometimes surprising. In addition, there is a good selection of wines with some drops from the region.
At Beckenburg, regionality is more than just a buzzword. Here, most of the ingredients come from the surrounding area. The cooking is fresh and healthy, with a good dose of creativity. Many of the dishes have a Mediterranean or Far Eastern touch.
The tiny and cozy Chuchi serves market-fresh dishes and a great wine selection. Jan Schmidlin's cuisine is as purist as the interior: the best ingredients are carefully processed and combined into flavourful creations.
"Ti piace la Pasta?" is the central question in the Gerberstube. Anyone who can answer it with "Sì!" will feel like they're in a land of milk and honey here. Whether tagliatelle, spaghetti, gnocchi or ravioli, al sugo, ragù or burro e salvia, they all taste great.
Today, the historic halls of Haberhuus offer comfort food, fine drinks and a trendy atmosphere. The dishes on the small menu skilfully mix influences from all over the world, but never seem out of place. You are served by a young, motivated team.
The Wirtschaft zum Frieden in Schaffhausen is a cosy place. Creative Swiss and Mediterranean dishes, in a traditional setting with a Swiss tiled stove. The menu is deliberately small, because everything is prepared fresh daily by Fabrice Bischoff and his team.
Spanish hospitality in the beautiful old town of Schaffhausen. Al Andalus serves tapas and daily menus at lunchtime, with a larger menu of Andalusian dishes in the evening. The much-praised paella is served by advance order, often by the chef himself.
The Fass Beiz is "Chuchi, Kafi and Bar" at the same time. There is something fine to eat and drink here all day long. The cuisine is down-to-earth and uncomplicated. At noon, good, healthy and inexpensive lunch menus are served and in the evening, the selection is somewhat larger.
Dining in an elegant and cosy ambience directly on the Rhine – that's what you get at Güterhof. The menu is varied with Swiss classics, seasonal dishes and meat from the hot stone grill. If that doesn't appeal to you, choose a dish from the Japanese sushi menu.
