The nose comes across with strong woody notes reminiscent of freshly sawn oak. Notes of malt, vanilla and light fruit are also pronounced. The palate is spicy and once again very barrel-accentuated with rich woody notes. A fine honey sweetness provides the counterpoint on the palate, malt and a gentle fruit dimension in the mid-palate. The spicy, fresh wood gains strength again towards the finish.
