Oasi degli Angeli

Falstaff Wine Guide Italy 2024

In Cupra Marittima in the southern Marche region, a small country road leads inland to the Oasis of Angels, the Oasi degli Angeli. This is the realm of Eleonora Rossi and her husband Marco Casolanetti. In 1997, Marco produced his first wine, a single-varietal Montepulciano, which he named Kurni after his mother-in-law's pet name. From the very beginning, Marco Casolanetti focused on natural cultivation and extremely low yields: Dense plantings in a cane system yield just 150 to 170 grams per cane. A few years ago, the range was expanded to include Kupra, a single-varietal Grenache.
